The ACT Deafness Resource Centre

Who We Are

The ACT Deafness Resource Centre is a community organisation providing information, referral and advocacy services for the Hearing Impaired, Deaf and those with Chronic Disorders of the Ear. We offer support to the broader ACT community.

Our Strategic Intent

Our strategic intent is to sustain and extend DRC as a community organisation that serves people with Hearing Impairment, Deafness or Chronic Disorder of the Ear in the ACT and surrounding hinterland, in order to mitigate the effects of their hearing loss.

 

Our Services

We Provide

  • Drop-In Service: a referral service to help clients access mainstream services
  • Specialist information on hearing related issues and services, such as choice of hearing aid or cochlear implant, or on conditions of the ear, such as Tinnitus and Meniere's Disease.
  • Hearing Aider Program - a basic hearing aid care service for residents of selected nursing homes and retirement villages.
  • Listening and Communication Technology Room products on display for sale and hire/purchase.
  • Assessment and free loan of assistive listening devices for trial in the workplace or home.
  • Workplace Hearing Assessment Reports
  • Workplace Presentations and Hearing Awareness Training
  • Hearing loop hire and sales – free assessment for your home, workplace or church.
